Transgenesis

They have been on this rotating rock called “Earth” long before us. They don’t bother anyone. They have the cute name “water bears” but at least 1,000 different species have been identified in their phylum. They are microscopic animals (ranging in size from 0.1 millimeters up to 1.5 millimeters) and have been found living from the peaks of the Himalayas to depths of 4,000 meters underwater. They possess unique characteristics: they remain alive at temperatures close to absolute zero (-273 degrees Celsius…) and also above the boiling point of water (up to 150 degrees Celsius). They can survive almost a decade without water, live in the vacuum of space, can withstand hundreds of times more radiation than any other animal species on the planet. And they are not harmed by radioactivity…

Consequently, the announcement by a Chinese military biotechnology laboratory that it had introduced a “water bear” gene into a human stem cell via genetic editing (CRISPR/Cas9) and subsequently tested the stem cells’ resistance to radiation caused quite a shock. “There are ethical issues,” various Western biotechnologists began to whisper… For the creation of “enhanced” soldiers suitable even for nuclear warfare, there is no “ethical issue” whatsoever – let them drop the nonsense and their so-called ethics!!

Only a competition issue exists. Who will build the best and the most… the others / ones, faster? In case of need for shelters (as many as fit…)
