The news of the day

The blonde, blue-eyed Fedha may not represent the typical appearance of women in Kuwait. Her uncovered head may not express the mainstream view there regarding female dress codes. Ultimately, she may be an exportable product: the news presenter Fedha is an absolute creation of “artificial intelligence.” This proves that if “intelligence” is already recognized in electromechanical constructions and complex algorithms, beauty will soon be recognized as well.

The idea of launching these capabilities in the form of a newscaster is not original: after all, “news production” itself is a Spectacle, which encompasses many spectacles. The interesting thing about Fedha (and every similar achievement) is that it can be “dialogic”. This means that it won’t say the same things to every viewer (at this stage in cyberspace) but will also respond to questions, doubts, etc.—always in relation to the news.

We suspect that in such ways, deepfake content will not be something that is simply served ready-made for consumption. But it will be “woven” interactively, based on the needs of the consumer.

If not something else shows democratic; isn’t that so? And afterwards, what else does the disillusioned citizen of today want, other than lullabies?
