“The ribs eat first”: the saying is about something else, but however it is reversed (for the moment…) at the point of the new example: the first eat the ribs!
Various techniques are being tested to deal with malicious or unwanted drones (one such idea in cyborg 3), however this one, from the Dutch police, shows (at least) breadth of spirit! Taken from the hunting traditions of medieval Europe (but also of today’s hunters in the Asian steppes) the eagle is called upon once again to the front line. This time against drones!
And something tells us that it will be perfect!
Whether this idea (applicable if the proper education exists) will succeed for long, we don’t know. We assume not – technologists won’t leave the “drone versus drone” field to eagles, hawks and carrier pigeons! But think of various “third-world” areas that are, and will become, targets for military UAVs. For them, the idea is perfect. Environmentally friendly and respectful of their traditions, and certainly extremely cheap. And later, who knows? “Suicide raptors”…
