Augmented-reality glasses for dogs? Yes. The U.S. Army and its research arms are not short on ideas. In their view, dogs with “augmented vision capabilities,” combined with their natural sense of smell and hearing, will make excellent “detectors” for military use.
Of course, there’s always a nice word for possible non-military uses. A dog wearing such glasses will supposedly communicate better with its human / owner. Should it wear such glasses too? Why not?
To be precise: in military use it has to be worn! A creature with four legs and a tail and another with two legs and no tail, both wearing such glasses with wireless communication between them, will allow the second to see what the first sees. And, as the inventive beings of the second category proudly declare, in this way the soldier will see into places he cannot go.
And the police officer as well – we would add. Only one thing remains, but it’s secondary. What would the strays comment if they came across an augmented rottweiler? Look at that jerk maybe… (Fortunately, such spiteful and envious words won’t be heard among us…)
