No one was interested (until now) in how flexible screens, televisions or “smartphones” are made, and the reason is simple: such products are not yet available on the market. And the reason for this lack is also simple: high cost…

Not anymore. An MIT spinout company (named Kateeva) invented a relatively cheap way to print organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) in successive layers, with a final flexible result.

And again we won’t learn and you won’t learn exactly how these screens will be made. At least we’ll have fun with it: give me your old screen to wrap fish – if those aren’t printed from 3D printers too…
