If you look at the bulky object, it might resemble a robotic horse. Something similar, but not for races or walks! It is a “military unit support system” of the American army, designed to carry the heavy equipment of infantrymen when they are forced to march on foot.
The image is from a “showdown” of this type of robot, organized by the American DARPA (“mother” of the internet as well), in Florida, at the end of December 2013. Indeed, the LS3 (that is the name of this specific model) started to move “off track” resulting in someone having to push it back on the “straight path”.
Things won’t be so charming when and if such machines come into use. You can imagine whatever your soul desires for the “disgust” of some LS3 or LS4 under battle conditions… Something realistic could be that during some operation it suffers damage, and the American soldiers are forced to carry not only their weapons, but also their expensive electromechanical mule…
