The sign on the barrels is unmistakable: radioactive waste. The promise of nuclear energy has been plagued by leaks for decades. No more. And not for the better… A multidisciplinary research team from the medical department of the University of Texas recently announced that they found an “antidote” to the deadly consequences that exposure to large amounts of radioactivity has on living organisms. The experiments were conducted (naturally…) on mice. And it was proven (they say) that a single injection of a regenerative peptide, if administered within 24 hours of exposure to nuclear radiation, significantly reduces the consequences, markedly increasing survival rates.
The research had (what else?) a humanitarian purpose: the cases of accidents in nuclear power plants. However, if until now you had the idea that a nuclear war is excluded from happening because it would be mutually absolutely destructive, perhaps you should reconsider…
Not at all a “humanitarian” prospect, is it?
