A recent survey of 1,002 adults in England, on topics related to the (and technological) future, yielded answers that are quite interesting.
– Although 60% to 72% (depending on the question) stated that technological developments over the next 20 years will be for the better, 65% (of the total sample) said they would prefer to keep living in the present world rather than in the one 20 years from now.
– One in six (17%) said they would enter into a romantic relationship with a robot, provided they were sure they “match.” Among younger ages (18–34) the rate was 26%.
– One in five (20%) said they would use DNA analysis or pheromone data to find a partner. In the 18–34 age group the rate was 31%.
– One in three (34%) said they would implant a microchip in their hand to be able to enter their home or unlock their work computer.
– One in three (33%) said that tea will still be the most popular beverage in England in 2036.
We assume that almost everyone to everyone (close to 100%) would state not only that the crowned republic will continue to be the form of government, but that it will be Queen (in 2036) Elizabeth.
It remains to be seen what their opinion is of the EU…
