Do they have humor or time for games in university research centers? Are they rushing to patent digital applications? Or do they simply participate in completing what Debord had (discovered? predicted? announced?) in The Society of the Spectacle as: truth becomes a moment of the lie?
As it happens, the Face2Face technical application developed by cyber experts from 3 top universities (Erlangen in Nuremberg, the Max Planck Institute and Stanford University) allows the real-time changing of a person’s expressions (in online transmission). Through a kind of advanced “copy/paste” of another person’s expressions.
We find it impossible to identify the “scientific” value of this real-time digital impersonation! It is much easier to imagine any other use than “scientific” ones. Such as, for example, someone appearing in a live broadcast, “saying” what is copied and pasted onto them by an unknown submitter…
It is a “timely” step in the process of plasticization! There will be no need for the misinterpretation of words or images; they will be manipulated in such a way that you will come to “recognize yourself” somewhere and somehow that never existed before.
What will sensory “reality” be called in the near future? The statement of the random Elon Musk that “the probability that we are in the ‘base reality’ is one in a billion”?
Or will knowledge be permanently reflective (and only such), against both virtual reality and artificial intelligence?
