Has there been a video game in recent years that wasn’t addictive? We doubt it. The current global hit seems to be Fortnite – and it’s considered as addictive as crack.
Experts confirm (in passing) that this video addiction is caused by triggering increased production of the well-known “dopamine” hormone, followed by the secretion of other “accompanying” hormones.
Among adults (experts say) Fortnite “breaks up homes” (: causes divorces…). Among minors? Needless to say, this is the no. 1 danger: “our children”!
But a bit of family realism wouldn’t hurt. In societies (especially the American one) where a classmate might gun down the entire classroom, having “our child” sit in a chair on his birthday this year and get up the next isn’t the worst-case scenario…
