insane acceleration > It is certainly difficult for someone to fully grasp not just the technological "ideas" or "inventions," but the applications that are already entering, or are on the verge of entering, various aspects of everyday life - especially in Western societies. Yet even if one has only a partial understanding, they will still be "dazed."

It seems like a combination of factors is at play, with the most significant being what has happened since 2020. Barriers, limits, inhibitions, and hesitations on the part of decision-makers - both in biotechnology and in computing/cybernetics, neuroscience, and elsewhere - have been shattered. The acceleration of restructuring is truly "insane," and it's difficult to create a comprehensive map of it. Massive amounts of capital - merely an expression of the surplus value that has been accumulating for decades in the form of money - are ready to be "invested" in anything that "smells" of a Paradigm Shift.

At the same time, the overwhelming majority of Western societies live in an intellectual decline that could be described as unprecedented over the last five decades. If it weren't for Marx reminding us from the depths of history that this very barbarism, this intellectual poverty, is a prerequisite, an indicator, and simultaneously the fuel for every radical capitalist "launch," we would simply say that this state of decay is simply unthinkable.

But no - it's not unthinkable... It is the very foundation for legitimizing technologies of human enhancement. To the ignorant, these may seem like science fiction, but to modern "Taylorists" (practitioners of Taylorism...), they are programs ready for implementation:

"If you're not obviously broken, incompetent, how will you accept your technological upgrade?"

Of course (according to the "enhanced" capitalist norms and commands), the necessary ground for biotechnological, cybernetic, and neuro-mechanical "enhancement" of our species is war. We must understand the word "war" both literally (between rival states/capitals) and metaphorically (the daily microscopic competition within societies). Thus, when military technologists speak of "human enhancement," they are not referring only to some distant, isolated zone of military operations, but to the totality of the incoming capitalist "normality."

For example, Joel Mozer, a high-ranking official in the U.S. "Space Force," should not be misunderstood when he said, a year and a half ago:

"... Human enhancement will be developed through technologies that support augmented and virtual reality, including 'neural simulation,' in order to enhance the performance of natural senses. The individual must be transferred into a fluid state where learning will improve and memory will be maximized... Such a person will evolve into someone with high-performance capabilities..."

He could have been speaking about a "soldier," but with exactly the same words, he could just as well have been speaking about a "worker," certainly in certain types of jobs. In both interpretations, it’s about someone operating components of hyper-mechanical equipment.

All of this sounds dystopian and repulsive. The blitzkrieg-like genetic engineering assault of 2020–2022 was considered dystopian at the time, even though it ended in actual massacre. This allowed the specialized idiots in charge of mass propaganda to easily divert the attention of millions of captives toward trivial issues. Precisely during this historical period, Western states are revising their legislation to pave the way for the biotechnological colonization of all living species - starting with microbes and viruses, then moving on to insects, plants, and animals - and ultimately dispossessing our own species.

A new continent called Life is being cannonaded by conquistadors, and the "natives" of this continent are being duped with beads, mirrors... and "burning water"... Some prefer to side with the invaders.

Precisely because the intellectual (and often emotional) infantilization of populations is the most critical condition for capitalist technocratic sovereignty, this dominance will not (only) be imposed through the violence of threats and punishments. It will also be enforced through the "charm" and "magic" of the Wonderful New World.

Sometimes the whip, sometimes the carrot... always obedience...
